What is a Partners Desk?

A Partners Desk is a large desk that was originally designed to be used by two people facing each other. This type of desk was also known as a “pedestal desk” as the drawer units, or pedestals, supported the table top. Basically the desk is like two desks pushed together back to back with working cupboards and drawers on both sides but with one complete working surface on the top.

Our solid mahogany antique reproduction Partners Desks are available in two sizes, medium and large. They are hand crafted using traditional techniques including dovetail joints to all drawers. The standard desks feature cupboard space in the right hand pedestal and drawers in the left.

A one sided version of this desk is also available. It has working drawers and a cupboard on one side and the back is panelled so that it can go against a wall.
