Items per page: 15 | 30 | View all

The four poster bed has a very long history and records show that they were in existence in the late 14th and early 15th centuries. It was undeniably very symbolic of status and was customary for royalty and noblemen to own a four poster bed. The origins of the four poster bed are unknown but they are thought to have derived in Austria before arriving in England where it soon became a part of the British aristocracy.

Our range of solid mahogany four poster beds include traditional canopy beds, half testers and Tudor beds. They feature intricate hand carved detail and are available with a traditional wax polish or antique white paint finish. See our bespoke section for more options.

The Walnut four poster beds from the Hampton and Spire ranges are crafted from solid wood. They have burr walnut veneers applied by skilled craftsmen.
