1. French Brodsworth Sleigh Bed

This magnificent sleigh bed is an antique reproduction of the French Brodsworth Bed inspired by Louis Philippe Lit Bateau. (The original bed can be seen at Brodsworth Hall in South Yorkshire.) The 5ft and 6ft versions of this bed are over 8ft long due to the elongated curves on the headboard and footboard and the highly carved “lion feet”. The 6ft version remains the most popular. I guess if you have a large enough bedroom then this really is a statement bed. We have even had this bed made to fit a 7ft mattress if you have the room then why not?!

 

2. French Wedding Armoire

The French Wedding Armoire features a very highly carved cornice which follows on down through the panelled doors. Internally you have the choice of a hanging rail or 2 storage shelves. This is our most popular French armoire and customers prefer it in the waxed mahogany finish. If you are looking for French bedroom furniture then an armoire is a good place to start although saying that a lot of people use Armoires in bathrooms to store towels and toiletries or even in hallways for storing coats and shoes.

 

3. French Louis Philippe Double and Triple Wardrobes

The Louis Philippe Triple Wardrobe literally flies out of our warehouse doors! Quite often these wardrobes are reserved before they even arrive with us. The double wardrobe is also very popular. Both of these wardrobes offer fantastic bedroom storage. The double wardrobe features a hanging rail with shelf above. The triple has the added benefit of double hanging or shelves in the single side of the wardrobe. The Louis Philippe French bedroom furniture range is our most popular ranges with the Chests of Drawers featuring at number 8 in our Top 10 (see below).

 

4. French Sleigh Beds

It is a close run race between the regular and low footboard versions of our mahogany French Sleigh Beds. But the winner is ….. the low footboard. This particular bed works well in a smaller room and is also popular with our taller customers who like this style of bed but don’t like the restriction of a higher footboard.

 

5. French Rococo Beds

The antique white version of the French Rococo Bed is a firm favourite with our customers. If intricate hand carved detail is your thing then this is definitely the bed for you. The headboard and footboard feature fantastic carved detail and this is also echoed along the side panels. The antique white version in particular emphasises all of this detail. If you are not a fan of antique white however this bed is also available in waxed mahogany or real gold or silver leaf versions.

 

6. Hampton French Kidney Writing Desk and Hampton Rattan Chair

The Hampton French Kidney Writing Desk is elegant as well as practical. This desk features an inlaid leather kidney shaped top  as well as gracefully shaped carved legs. The 5 drawers offer plenty of practical storage space. The Hampton Rattan Chair is a popular choice to accompany this particular desk. The chair echoes the graceful lines of the desk and also features hand carved detail. This particular chair is available with a choice of natural coloured linen upholstery or hardwearing brown leather upholstery.

 

7. French Versailles Carved Bird Bed

Featuring elegant hand carved birds either side of its tall headboard the French Versailles Carved Bird Bed is one of our most popular French beds. You might image that the real silver leaf or gold leaf versions of this opulent bed would be the most popular. In fact we sell more of the high gloss mahogany version closely followed by the antique white ones. The stunning headboard, which is one of the tallest we do, stands at 168cm (or 5’6″) making this a real statement piece in any bedroom.

 

8. French Louis Philippe Chests of Drawers

As mentioned above the Chests of Drawers from the Louis Philippe French bedroom furniture range are our most popular. In particular the 6-8 low wide chest is the most in demand, again often selling out before it actually arrives with us*. If you have the room this chest offers optimum storage space. It features 6 spacious storage drawers with a further 2 hidden “secret” drawers at the top. Depending on the space you have available we also have the 3-4 Chest of Drawers and also the 5-6 Tall Chest of Drawers.

*(It is possible to reserve items before they arrive with us. We just ask for a 20% deposit with the balance payable when your item arrives into stock).

 

9. French Rococo Bedsides

The French Rococo Bedsides with pediment are the perfect accompaniment to the French Rococo Bed mentioned above. The highly carved pediment is the main feature of these bedsides. This carving is echoed throughout the bedside and in particular beneath the single drawer. Not surprisingly the antique white version of this bedside is the most popular which makes sense when that is the favourite colour for the Rococo bed.

 

10. French Elegance Rattan Bed

The French Elegance Rattan Bed is the epitome of shabby chic featuring elegant simple lines. The doubled walled rattan footboard gently curves around your mattress. This is a very feminine bed. It features simple hand carved detail and is most popular in the antique white finish. This bed is also available in a waxed mahogany finish and this gives it a completely different look.
